I bought the smokin-it-3 about a month ago. This is my first smoker. I am using it for the 4th time today, smokin salmon. I did a lot of study and reading of reviews before I made the purchase. More than satisfied with the performance of this awesome piece of smokin equipment. The pulled pork was quickly devoured by my children and grand kids. As a 70 year old grandad I am happy to have another motivator with which to bribe my kids and grands to visit me and have a plate of smoke. LOL

Awesome smoker!

I purchased smokin-it #3, I have smoked just about everything and came out with great results. lots of room for full rack of ribs, briskette and shoulders. I made a batch of venison pepperettes and they came out better than store bought! Takes time getting use to tempurature, cooking time and amount of wood needed but thats with every smoker. This is a well built- quality smoker, great price compared to other smokers.

Hi Markley, You may very well have some issue with your specific unit. I'm sure the owner will work that out with you. However, I have a friend who lived in Vail for many years and he could never get his product to cook well because of the elevation factor. This may also be affecting your smoke.

SMOKIN IT #3

Shipped quickly, but when I pulled it out of the box there were screws on the top that were ready to fall out. I had to screw them back in. My first smoke was baby backs set at 225 by the dial. Came back 5 hrs later and the ribs were not done! I left them in for another hour, still not done. I put them in foil and left them. 4 hrs later the ribs were finally done. I tried ribs one more time and manually checked the temp this time. Found out the temp on the dial is wrong. 225 was really 210. I turned the dial almost to 250 and it held at 225. Ribs did great in 6 hrs. Now I can only hope it can get to 250 when needed. I tried to contact the owner through email and phone and almost a week later still no reply. Maybe he is on vacation or something I don't know. The first time I called with a question, he answered right away. So after buying the smoker, s/h, cover and tray insert I have a good $700 invested and would have liked a response by now.

I've been wanting a smoker so I purchased the Smokin-it 3. This is a great smoker. Very well made. I smoked to 2 pork ribs. Did not have to cut to fit in smoker. Lots of room. I did the 3-2-1 method and the ribs came out great. They were gone within 15 minutes. Should have made more. I'll be smoking quite often with the Smokin-it 3. For the price you just can't beat it. Another smoker this size will cost you much more. The one I ordered is the newer version. It has 2 latches on the door.
